Ric Skinner's "Lot 14" Band
A few
months back I was contacted by a musician friend of mine, Ric Skinner, to do the photography for a CD his band was about to
release. Having worked with the band in the past and having
discussed the visual concept for the CD with Ric, it was a project I
was happy to accept.

The band
was formed in 2009, with the latest line up featuring Ric Skinner,
Jeremy Skinner, Dan Rogers, Phil Santiago and Sarah Worden. The
diverse experience each member brings to the band, contributes to a
musical style, they describe as a unique blend of “Retro
progressive jazz rock”, that is deeply rooted in their original
material and the tunes they tastefully cover.
The CD
which is named “Transition”, is truly a home grown project as all
of the creative aspects of the production were performed in Orange
County. It also includes guest performances by Dale Hammond and Dan
Brother.

Ric
Skinner's “Lot 14” Band is one of many groups and soloists in
Orange County, that still play out live in spite of the shrinking
amount of live music venues. Though technology has evolved to the
point where almost any live performance can be download or streamed
to our computers or mobile devices, nothing can replace the up close
and personal relationship one has with a music performance, when it's
experienced live.
So the next
time you feel like listening to music, unplug your iPod and check out
some of the great musicians your local clubs are featuring. You
might discover something different than what's being played on your
local radio stations. You will also be supporting live music and
your local economy by patronizing live music venues.

14” Band CD, “Transition”, visit their site on ReverbNation.
