Four Voices at the Shadowland Theatre

Though OC LOOK's primary focus is to bring you photographs and stories within Orange County, every once and a while, we like to step just beyond it's borders to feature content worthy of mention. Today's post is one such time. We ventured out just a stones throw over the Orange County border, to the Village of Ellenville, where on April 11th, a staged reading of Raine Grayson's “Four Voices” was performed at the Shadowland Theatre.
“Four Voices” is Playwright Raine Grayson's breakout one act production, directed by Caitlynn Barrett and Raine Grayson. The story is a look into a contemporary family's everyday life and the emotional challenges it experiences with autism and homosexuality.

Each actor immediately draws you into their character and together with the narration of Quayeshawna Smith, successfully lead you on a journey of understanding to the character's perception of and position in the family unit. Costume Designer, Victoria Scott does an excellent job of capturing the persona of each character, adding an understated sense of realism to the performance.

The production features actors Tim Bruck Jr., Delaney Taliaferro, Savion Hastings-Ward and Noelle Crocco. Under the artful direction of Caitlynn Barrett and Raine Grayson, this poignant one act performance truly comes to life. This being the first play that Grayson has written, I expect that you'll be hearing more from her and from this creatively talented cast.
